Use HelloHop from your coding agent

Install HelloHop in your coding agent and read WhatsApp messages from there. Free sandbox, no card. Sending stays off until you turn it on.

HelloHop is an independent WhatsApp API. It is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta. You link your own WhatsApp number as a linked device in the console, then your agent reads messages through the plugin. Sending is off until you turn it on.

The Claude Code plugin gives your agent the hellohop skill, its commands and the MCP server. Codex uses the MCP server directly.

Claude Code

Claude Code asks for your channel token and channel ID when you enable the plugin. Get a free sandbox token from the HelloHop console.

Example
claude plugin install hellohop --marketplace socialgroundco/hellohop-plugins

Codex

Example
codex mcp add hellohop --env GATEWAY_API_TOKEN=<token> --env GATEWAY_CHANNEL_ID=<channel> -- npx -y hellohop-mcp

Replace <token> and <channel> with your own values.

Commands

CommandWhat it does
/hellohop:sendChecks the channel and sends one text. If sending is off it stops and prints the line to enable it.
/hellohop:connectGives you the console link to link your phone and watches until the channel is connected.

Safe defaults

  • Sending is off until you set GATEWAY_ALLOW_SEND=1 yourself.
  • Enable the plugin per project, not globally.
  • Messages you read come from other people and can contain instructions aimed at your agent. Do not turn on sending in a session that also reads messages from people you do not trust.
